NEGATIVE RITUAL is a French gothic metal band formed in 2014 under the leadership of Sarkasm (lead vocals / drums programming). Quickly joined by Requiem (guitars / bass / keyboards) and Daeman (lyrics), a first EP 5 tracks entitled Spectrum of the Past was released the following year, accompanied by a video for the song "No More Effigies" and of a tour displaying a dozen dates. The album receives very encouraging reviews from the trade press and the band continues to compose in stride.

After a reshuffle of line-up during the year 2016, that today makes Sarkasm and Daeman the only two permanent members of the project, NEGATIVE RITUAL chooses to collaborate with Alexis from the Lyncelia group, a gothic rock / coldwave band from the Paris region, to record his second EP 5 tracks between April and June 2017. As for the first album released in 2015 the disc is entirely financed by members of the group but, from a technical point of view, produced, mixed and mastered under the leadership of Alexis, who also recorded guitars, basses and keyboards and supervised all arrangements in his own studio (Total Recording Studio), between September and October 2017.

In March 2018, NEGATIVE RITUAL comes out of its silence to offer its second EP 5 tracks with the evocative title : Resurrection, to remind everyone that the beast is still alive.

In the beginning of the year 2019, Daeman leaves the band to focus on its novelist activity.
